welcome to Acacia Elementary School we take great pride in providing students with academic excellence and a well-rounded School experience and we are able to accomplish this because of the collaborative Partnerships that you have with our parents and school community members Acacia Elementary School is a kindergarten through 6th grade we are located in Fullerton Acacia has a really nice blend of Arts and Technology our focus is really in providing students with an enriching School experience and that is all because of the school climate that we create for students and I think that the rigger at Acacia is a new level of rigor Keisha is I call a magical places but I can hear it years ago I decided it was my forever home I think it's all kind of woven into create a well-rounded child is awesomely have a great stamina robotics program when I've had it's really cool and we just have like navigate class and it's an awesome thing to be in and be a part of our balanced literacy approach which means we're providing students with holistic means of what literacy is Reading Writing listening and speaking the content is carried across not just in reading but in writing and science and math and all that they're doing in addition to giving them strategies and what to do in content areas were building identity that students have as readers and writers I mean students are exposed to problem-solving skills they have to like justify their answer if they have it The Writers Workshop reduce Workshop program and it helps you really dig into your peace and make it so much better and I feel like I've become a much stronger Rider through that the readers and Writers Workshop method has genuinely transform myself as an educator as well as my class it is about arming them tools and strategy so that they can themselves unlock the mystery of that what is reading and writing within across the discipline stem it's another area where we want students to shine and so we offer stem kindergarten through 6th grade a few years ago we took half of her library that used to be our computer so we took out all of our laptops and we bought furniture that allows who kids can collaborate we do a lot of construction I have connect sets and so they're often doing that free building and really working together I'm a focus of mine has also been robotics over the years I know that that's going to be at the old are kids are going to be I'm taking part in as they grow up what we recognize here is that technology has another language like it's another language it's another opportunity for students to learn their lesson engagement I know for my kids Kids React for Cutler my New Haven because they just get so excited options for gifted and talented education program in a way it's for kids who think they're it's a lot about individualizing curriculum for kids and then having kids that are intellectual appears be together in the same room and we use things called gate icons that just focus on different aspects that we want them to fo I'm at the text so it's challenging it makes them think harder and deeper it's great that we have that for the kids but it's also nice like within any classroom whether it's gate identified or not there's such an individualized level of instruction going on Acacia is a really special place in that are a community is one big family we couldn't do what we do without the parent partnership that we have our foundation we raised thousands and thousands of dollars every single year to support the students to support the school are you come onto campus and you'll see that it's very inviting I feel like everybody genuine who cares about each other and it's me because everybody is doing such Innovative things and instead of just keeping it to one classroom they like sharing the ideas so then the kids can be the ones to benefit from one of the coolest things that say not only push it academic work with a push you in life to whether you're a teacher here whether you are the principal whether you are the instructional coach we're all here on behalf of children Acacia as a whole doesn't just think of a child as an academic learner but they think of emotionally and creatively and I feel that it meets all of those needs
