School Plan for Student Achievement

Acacia Elementary is committed to advancing student achievement in both English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics through clearly defined goals and a robust plan of support. By Spring 2026, the school aims to increase the percentage of K–2 students achieving proficiency on ELA and Math benchmark assessments by at least 10% compared to initial results. For students in grades 3–6, the goal is to raise the overall Distance from Standard (DFS) score by 3 points in both ELA and Math, with ELA increasing from 75 to 78 and Math from 64 to 67. Additionally, by Spring 2026, the school seeks to boost the percentage of English Learners in grades 3–6 making progress on the ELPAC reading domain by 10%.

To support these academic goals, Acacia is implementing a multi-layered plan that includes staffing, professional development, and instructional resources. Certificated staff will benefit from regular Professional Learning Community (PLC) time, professional development in ELA, Math, and ELD, and stipends for after-school programs like Robotics and High Reliability Schools. Substitute teachers will be utilized to support collaboration, assessments, and teacher evaluations. Teachers will also attend specialized training in programs like Systematic ELD, Writer’s Workshop, CGI, and RtI. Classroom instruction will be enriched through targeted purchases, including intervention materials, Leveled Readers, SIPPS, Simple Solutions, and ELD supplements like realia and multimedia tools. Additionally, field trips, assemblies, and before/after school clubs such as DELTA Math, ALEKS, and Robotics will enhance engagement and learning across the curriculum.

Acacia Elementary is committed to ensuring that all students and staff have access to and demonstrate mastery of 21st-century learning tools, resources, and skills to support relevant, rigorous, and engaging learning experiences. This vision is supported through targeted investments in personnel, professional development, and instructional technology. A stipend is provided for the Speech and Debate Coach, promoting critical thinking and communication skills. Tech I staff deliver essential technology support to ensure smooth daily operations and classroom integration. Teachers participate in ongoing professional development, including CUE and other technology-focused conferences, to enhance their instructional practices. These tools allow students to publish their work, access digital resources, and participate in STEAM Lab activities, while also enabling teachers, office staff, and administrators to effectively run academic and intervention programs.

Acacia Elementary School is dedicated to providing a welcoming, safe, and secure environment for all students, staff, and families. To support this commitment, 100% of students will receive character development lessons through the PBIS program, as tracked by teacher records, and participate in the Second Step social-emotional learning program throughout the year. The school aims to reduce the number of suspensions by comparing start- and end-of-year data from the SWIS system. Social-emotional strategies such as morning greetings, morning meetings, calm corners, and mindfulness practices are embedded into daily routines to promote student well-being. To support these efforts, certificated staff are compensated for time spent planning PBIS and safety initiatives, and a school counselor is funded at 50% to implement behavioral and emotional support programs like Lunch Bunch, individual/group counseling, and bullying prevention. Additional noon supervision is provided through classified staff to ensure safe transitions during key parts of the school day. The school also partners with a school psychologist, mental health intern, and outside agencies to provide counseling and crisis support. Instructional and safety materials such as certificates, PBIS resources, emergency supplies, walkie-talkie replacements, and furniture for flexible learning environments are purchased to support both student engagement and campus security. Finally, materials will be used to enhance school tours, showcasing Acacia’s supportive and enriching programs to prospective families

Acacia Elementary School is committed to fostering strong, effective communication among all members of our school community and throughout the District. This commitment is reflected in the school’s goal to increase parent and community participation in events such as parent-teacher conferences, Back to School Night, Family Nights, Open House, and involvement in school leadership groups like ELAC, SSC, PTA, and The Acacia Foundation. To support this, Acacia provides a wide range of communication tools and engagement opportunities. These include the monthly school newsletter, regularly updated school and classroom websites, parent surveys, Thursday Panda Folders, and digital communication platforms such as PeachJar, Smore, and Connect Ed messages. Families are invited to participate in Coffee with the Principal, parent information nights, PTA and Foundation meetings, and school assemblies. Teachers and administrators maintain open lines of communication through emails, phone calls, and parent communication apps like Seesaw, Google Classroom, and Class Dojo, while parents are welcomed into the school as volunteers and committee members. Through these many touchpoints, Acacia ensures families are informed, valued, and actively engaged in the life of the school
